I have created these white face gauges for the GS500e and GS500f models.
They are pretty easy to install although it does take some work to complete the install. Included are instructions on how to install the overlays along with the overlays themselves. (Will be posting video install instructions for buyers once I am able to create the video)
These are overlays that lay on top of the existing faceplates. DEFAULT COLORS: WHITE faces with RED redline.
Only $20 for a set which includes shipping!
Great modification which really adds character to any GS500!
CUSTOM OPTION: Interested in a set other than just white?! Looking for flames? Solid color? Picture of your kids?! Blue line instead of red? Only an additional $10.00! Only $30 shipped!
Custom Examples: Tach as site name and username so bikes are easily identified at Meets! Yellow speedometer could have a matching yellow tach!

In other words, how do these look at night? (Pics??) :thumb:
I could swear I saw a pic at some point, but I can't find it now.
Those are really slick mang, good work!!
I'm definitely interested, and will following close for some night photos
Couple of things to address here:
1) Great questions!
2) I updated the post with a night picture of the speedometer. Really isn't bad at all in person as the picture also shows. Tachometer is darker than speedometer.
3) Lowered the price down to $20 shipped! Not looking to get rich so much as to help out others and make a little for my time.
4) ENJOY!
Can you make the speedo non linear, therefore accounting for the 10% speed difference to actual? :D

Light output kind of killed it for me..
If you could print on a more transparent paper(maybe velum? but its expensive.) and then print the white/color while leaving the numbers and hash marks transparent for light to shine through. I will be jumping all over them!
Great job for a fast first round! I'll be keeping my eye on these for sure
Light output really isn't too bad, still clearly visible especially after I replaced my tach bulb. I understand your concern though. Like you said, that type of paper would cost more = higher prices which means people probably wouldn't be too inclined to buy. However, I do like the idea of other options so maybe I will look into this idea. Thanks!
Ryan
Got some bigger fish to fry right now, but when i get some breathing room(and you're willing)..
I'll see if I can dig up some velum(or similar). Then we'll work out a deal where I'll send you my paper and you do yer magic

Okay, Mister. Interested in a set? :technical:
Nice job on those. If you are looking for a better material to do them out of, look into an inkjet printable backlit film, not paper. Downside is it will come on a roll, I just got a sample set in for 36" printing.
perhaps we could work out a deal for a set in exchange for some printing? (I make similar for Jeep Cherokees (http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f43/introducing-azzys-customs-our-xj-gauge-face-kit-1345682/))
Sneak peak at a little of the custom work that can be done. Will only charge $20 for a custom set! Tach has the site name with username so if at a meet you can easily identify fellow member's bikes!

same as below, but instead of the blue, a "somewhat Darker Red"
and if you can, add Tombs straight across in the same red on the bottom of the tach between the 0 and 12.
and heres the red I would like it to match to.
best up close pic I have of a freshly painted chain guard.

Updated original post!
Mine arrived just fine days or a week ago.
I forget as its been a bad few weeks....
Finally got around to putting them in today.
Look nice but not finished.
Painted my needles Red the same as the rest of the red on the bike. (just the needle like the blue one on the first page)
Also didnt like the black frame around the gauges one bit!
Always liked the chrome ones on the newer gauges.
So instead of that, I painted mine Red as well to match the rest.
Since I will be handling them quite a bit putting them back together, I've left them out to dry pretty much All day.
So once I finish up with my other work atm, I will be putting then back together and posting a pic.
(edit)
and they are done.
and lookin absolutely BAD@$$!!!

Has anyone done this yet? Any pics of the custom set?
Ordered some different types of paper(vellum, some straight clear used for overhead projector prints, and some other)
Once everything gets in, i'll see what i like the best and send you my sheet for printing!!
My question now is and i will still need to do some thinking as i don't want the light to show through too much and wash it out.. my question - can you print the inverse of what you normally have? so you would be printing the to make a solid color background leaving the hash marks with no ink for the light to show through.

Wow those look great! I really think I need a set in yellow but I have to think about it to make sure I get what I want, might need some custom lettering like Tombs did and maybe have the speedo wrap around to 220MPH or something for $h!ts and gigs. Damn those are sweet..
Hell, have it go to 14,000 MPH if you're going crazy lol
I don't think you could have it go to 14000MPH and still be in scale for real speeds, He mocked one up for me that just wrapped like I wanted..
Looks great!

Steezin is right, he has a very custom order which I have yet to complete however its been a long time since he sent me custom paper and he has been extremely patient with me! My bad for sure and I need to follow through on those! Regardless of whether he still wants them or not.
If you order a regular set I ship those out same day, no problem at all! Sorry Steezin!
PM'd you.
OK, Bud. I was typing a nice private PM, but you just rub me the wrong way..
Whether I still want them or not!? What is that shaZam!? Since I have held up my end of the business transaction(paid your asking price and supplied the paper) it would only be fair for you to hold up your end and supply the finished product. Correct?
My payment for the custom gauge face was sent August 14th 2012! That is over 10 Months now. You had design done and sent me photo samples of the printed gauge faces on September 18, 2012 via PM. Then for the next 9 months I was given nothing but run arounds. My last communication from you was on March 22, 2013 stated the following;
" From: Ryan Fordham <fordhamr44@gmail.com>

I will only be reporting back to this thread if/when I receive the product I have paid for.
Sucks you have not received your product Steezin.
I would be down for an OEM replacement looking set.. my RPM guage is faded slightly and it drives me crazy.
White gauges on an orange bike is not a good look in my opinion, and once I hear the outcome for Steezin then I will be down for a set, but only after that regrettably.
You two need to take this off the forum and work it out. Seems to me the obvious solution would be to ship what was ordered, or refund money and be done with it.
Regardless of the solution please don't fight here.

I guess by saying "bud" I came off as a bad person. Wasnt my intention at all; was actually trying to be sincere. I agree with John, that is also exactly what I said when I reported the post to the thread.
Karma for Steezin for waiting 10 months before getting a temper about it. About 9 months 2 weeks longer then most people.

My only internet deal that I was ripped off on has been righted and closed for good. There was a bit of delay, but Ford finally pulled through and held up his end. I received my gauge faces yesterday- 2 years 1 month and 22 days after my payment was made :icon_lol:
A note to all Twinners - I would not hesitate to order a set of gauge faces from Ford. I did a completely custom design on different paper than he normally used. I have no doubt if I were to order a standard set from him turn around would be reasonable. He did make good on his end of the deal and even included an extra set of faces for my troubles. Thanks again mang

I gotta say it didnt take to long to get the gauges and they were worth it they look awesome. It took some time and patience to install them though. Taking the metal bezel around the glass of the gauge was he hardest part. Ill take some pics and post them soon. I would recommend these to anybody. The carbon fiber is a nice subtle change from the solid black.
