Post by: knowles on May 17, 2012, 03:06:27 PM
Did a quick spray on the tank and the rear plastics. didn't turn out to bad

Started out as this.

then went to this shortly after, this was professionally painted.

Now i did this, if i don't sell it going to put plastics on it and keep, this i did with spray paint.

Far from perfect but better than having a blue tank on a black bike. if i keep it this winter I'm going to have it bead blasted down to bare metal and repaint it.

Hey,

I'm recently an owner of an '06 naked model and it already has a custom matte black paint job but it has plenty of cracks in it so I'm looking to do it again myself. There are plenty of tutorials on sanding the metal down with wet sand paper then doing plenty of coats etc but I'm looking at how to remove the fuel tank specifically? The manual that came with the bike looks to detail how to take off the side skirts and fender, but if anyone could help me with how to remove the fuel tank that'd be awesome! I can't find anything online!
