I have been riding a 1977 GS400x purchased new in '78, and it has been a reliable workhorse. I had no idea that Suzuki was building essentially the same bike, even better! I have been telling myself that if I could find another GS 400 brand new, I would buy it instantly. My 400 has been good on pavement, of course, but also has allowed me to travel into some pretty rugged areas, including some trails and creekbeds, up to a point. Have others been able to use the GS 500 off-road?
I am seriously interested in a low mileage, good, near-stock bike if anyone has one available. Can someone tell me what the lowest new price would be for a plain-Jane GS 500? I have also posted a note on the "For sale/wanted" group.
