Has anyone bought/used the chinese clip ons that they sell on ebay?
That just sounds like an accident waiting to happen...kind of like cheap brake pads.
I haven't. I use a stock bar with a 1" high 1.25" back pair of risers.
I'm sure there are a lot of Chinese clip ons being sold on eBay. Have a link for the ones you are asking about?
Like anything else, you get what you pay for. I've had inexpensive clip ons, and I've always ended up with more expensive ones. In the long run, you usually save money by getting the more expensive ones........

weedahoe, how are the clip ons holding up? I just bought a set and am somewhat wary of the screws being only 5mm. I mean that's only 3 ft lbs of torque.

I used them for a long time and NEVER had any issues from them. Eventually I gave them to another member here. We had a huge debate over these versus "name branded" pieces and IMO, anyone who pays or paid 2x-3x what none branded ones cost basically likes giving money away because these were solid. No problems. Ever.

Yes. Used them on my Ducati Monster to see if I liked the position of clip ons. Actually got many compliments from other bikers about them. Crashed the bike with them on and they survived unbent even though they copped a fair hit.

weedahoe, Twisted: Thanks for the reviews. The reason why I was worried about the screw size was because I broke one when I torqued it to 10 ft lbs.
Find some better bolts then with the same thread.
I presume they are aluminum, watch the torque on aluminum threads.
I ran them for awhile and also noticed that the bolts were terrible. New SS bolts fixed the problem. The clips and bars are great for the price. The hard part is building a bracket for the gauges if you don't want to raise the forks a bunch.
or just leave the steering geometry alone and mount them low.
can yall link these?
