Title: Solo Riding Modification
Post by: Jimbob on May 29, 2012, 08:05:01 PM
Hey guys I want to change my bike to a solo rider so i can save on the Rego. My bike is a Suzuki GS500 2004. I Live in QLD Australia I'm wondering if you guys know how hard this is to do? I know i need to take the rear pegs off which is pretty easy but something has to happen with the seat do you guys know what has to happen? Thanks :)

Balu Racing has a cowling to cover the rear of the seat. I had one and sold it to someone down there (I forget who) for the same purpose.
Select the GS500E for 2001 (not the 89-00). The 2001 seat is same from 20091-present

You sold it to me Adidas. You will also need to remove the grab bar as well. Then go see someone that does the mod plate and you should be good to go

You don't need a cowl, that is more of an asthetic choice. I took my pillion pegs off and my grab bar, after I got the plate I put my grab bar back on again.

You got lucky slips (ozzy did yours didnt he?)
The mod site states that the rear seat MUST me unusable and covered or cut.

Well I went to 3 different places and got told 3 different stories. I preferred the story with no seat cutting
