So does this mean that the one you had issues with reshimming valves on is toast?

Well, my tech said that it did not look good. I have not seen it myself yet, however, it sounds pretty bad, I think that dowel may have mucked up the gears that hold the cam chain to the crank. He said this was going to be a big job.

So I am looking to see if I can get a motor just in case. I found a few on ebay; just working out the logistics of moving them into Canada. I have access to cross border trucking and customs clearance, so I am working out some details just in case I have to get one.

In other words; I don't really know yet.

Motor is pooched. Can't go any further with out gutting the motor and having a good look at the internals. My shop was honest and said that going any further was going to spend money unnecessarily. So now I need a motor.

End of story
