Title: '07 carb rebuilding. Only 04-06 kits
Post by: blackwidow on June 05, 2012, 11:48:55 AM
I just purchased a '07 gs500f that has been sitting up for a while. I can get it to run but will die when it tries to idle. So i'm guessing its time for a good rebuild while I'm cleaning it.

I only see 04-06 carb kits on ebay. Is it ok to use one of these kits on my '07. Thanks

One of the best ways to answer this kind of question (assuming that you know which parts are in the kit) is to consult the Parts Fiche for the years in question.

For example, here are some sample links:
Hillsboro parts fiche for the 2004-2006 model years (http://www.hillsboromotorcycles.com/fiche_select2.asp?category=Motorcycles&make=SUZUKI&year=2006&fveh=7247)
Hillsboro parts fiche for the 2007 model year (http://www.hillsboromotorcycles.com/fiche_select2.asp?category=Motorcycles&make=SUZUKI&year=2007&fveh=10153)

(You will need to proceed to the Carburetor page in each case.)

Even though the overall set of fiche is different for the two model years, that doesn't mean that the individual parts you're interested in are different between the two.

Ah, thanks for the link. I'm sure i'll be using it again. Also it seems everything will fit just fine.

Thanks Kerry
