Title: Musarri Exhaust
Post by: Dill on June 05, 2012, 03:47:36 PM
I am wondering if anyone owns or has used a Musarri slip-on for their bike? If anyone has could they please post what you think of it.

No experience with that exhaust. I just installed a Motad - really nice. Not loud, but a deeper, more throaty sound.

Did a video on the Motad:  http://youtu.be/4eMGNolMuEU

I would prefer to have a louder and deeper sound if you would know an exhaust that would do the job?

V&H or Jardine.
Onboth, they are really loud so we insert the Jardine silencer. Cuts down a little on the volume but still is loud. V&H doesn't have a silencer but you can jam the Jardine silencer in the end of the V&H.

Where is a good place to buy a V&H slip-on?

Do yourself a favour and don't waste too much money on a full system. The standard is ok, just cut the end can off and fit a different exhaust. I fitted a r6 end can and used some of the r6 downpipes as a link pipe. Fitted straight on....

Here's mine. r6 blue flame pipe, with no baffle what so ever.

You have to really turn up the volume to appreciate how loud she really is.

I still am undecided on what type of slip-on I am going to purchase.  I am looking in the price range of $250.

This guy has the exhaust you were asking about, and is the only person I have seen on this forum with it. You asked what they were like ~ I imagine he is the only person that can answer that question. No idea if he has any for sale, but I doubt it.

Vance and Hines don't make a slip-on for the GS500 specifically, but if you know a place that can make you a connector pipe you can fit any slip-on you want. If you have no idea what I am talking about, just stick with the stock exhaust LOL

If you were gonna go for this exhaust I would steer away from the coloured anodized ones as they will fade and look tacky after a year or so. Stick with the chrome one.
