Title: Pyramid Parts HELP!
Post by: ASUDave on June 08, 2012, 12:17:13 PM
I placed an order with Pyramid Parts and I've not heard anything from them aside from a couple of auto-emails at the time I placed my order.  I also can't get ahold of them by email, telephone, or live chat (from their website). I've gotten all the other parts for my suspension projects, except the seals I ordered from them.

Has anyone else ever ordered from them? Anyone have any other way to get ahold of them?

Got my fork seals from ebay OEM parts. Might be time to start a chargeback. How long has it been?

I placed the order May 30, which I don't know is a long time or not.  But I've received my orders from SonicSprings and ebay this week and not a word from PP.   :dunno_black:

A week? That's not so bad. BikeBandit and other places can take a week or two before they ship.
Pyramid is the mfgr so they should go out fast. I ordered from them last year and hot fork seals in 10 days or less (Been a while but I don't remember any problems.)

I just find it odd that I can't reach anybody. Phone goes immediately to voice mail. Email bounces back as mailbox full and their live chat on their website always shows "Be right Back"

Like I said, I got an email when I placed the order saying that the seals were being shipped, so I thought they'd be here quickly, but I've since realized that was an auto email.

And here I thought it would be the random guy from ebay that I'd be waiting on.

You are an Aussie? Pyramid parts are a Kiwi company if IRC. I have purchased parts of them via eBay with no troubles before for my Ducati. It was some fork seals, dust seals and front brake pads. They did take about 2 weeks to arrive though.

I guess I just won't worry about it for another week or so, then. I'm just anxious to get my bike up and running again soon.

I ordered seals from Pyramid through flee-ghaaay on June 13. Shipped within 2 days.
They arrived from New Zealand today, the 22nd.

Ordered K&L seals from a seller in Florida and got them here in Seattle in 2 days. (Seller was georgefix)

INTERESTING SIDE NOTE: Both companies outsource the wipers (dust caps). Both have identical wipers marked with the same mfgr.
Their seals are different. Not sure which brand I like better.

As a follow-up:
I did finally get my parts, I'm thinking on June 12 or 13.
This was right after a somewhat snarky email from the sales guy that basically said, "You got an email that said your parts were shipped. It usually takes 5-7 days, so it should be there any day."

The only email I ever got was an auto-email shortly after I completed my purchase. I could tell it was auto-email because I got it seconds after I got the confirmation email for my purchase.  When I did try to contact them about shipping info, I kept getting rejected saying their inbox was full. I tried the "Live Chat" feature on the website and got no response. I then called their number and it would always go straight to voicemail. I finally was able to get in contact with them through PKN Trading, the company who handles their purchases.

Anyway, got my parts, planning to put everything together tomorrow. Hopefully, it was worth the wait.

Hi Folks,

Firstly i would like to apologize for the delay in your Pyramid Parts seals arriving, i can see that you have purchased from one of our affiliates. Just to clarify we have warehouses in the UK and in New Zealand and also distribution in Australia, Germany, Russia and the USA via stores and several affiliates. Any parts ordered on any of our websites (direct) are dispatched same day, or Next day if after 3pm GMT or Auckland time).  As for our support, we have 16 hours a day live chat and phone contact in New Zealand, UK and Australia (USA is now routed via Australia). Our head office is now located in New Zealand tel 03 542 3047. We also have four support email addresses with support/queries being answered daily and usually cleared daily (sometimes a delay at weekends sat/sun). We take customer service very seriously, as a general rule all of the Pyramid Parts staff are motorcyclists or are heavily connected to motorcycling so we all have an appreciation of the service required. We do thank you all for your business and it saddens us to hear of poor customer service. We will look into this specific transaction and see what happened.
Thanks Again.

Pyramid Parts Team.

The rude email notwithstanding, I think international shipping is wrought with pitfalls.  Some items fly through customs, and other packages seem to sit for weeks -even months.  It is hard to separate customs/shipping delays from seller delays.

I think people here appreciate your interest.  It shows you at least care what people are saying.  Feel free to post any specials or sale items in the for sale section.
