Title: 98 GSF600S being sold on craigslist -- help with purchase
Post by: sahaider on June 10, 2012, 12:30:23 PM
So I'm going to see this bike today around 6 pm (central), and I was hoping you guys could take a look at it and tell me what you think based on year, miles, etc. I talked him down to 1400, and if nobody else offers higher before 6, it's mine.

Anybody familiar with this bike? I know it is not a GS500, but I'd appreciate any guidance. I had to sell my 96 GS500E because it was a huge headache. Carb problems that would not go away no matter what was done. What kind of work am I looking at with this bike at this stage of its life?

You forgot to post a link to the ad.

Bandit's are awesome bikes. I couldn't say anything as to the price, but the torque the things put out is incredible. Supposedly the engines are bulletproof as well.

A b6 from 98 will likely be 2 X the trouble of the GS, and worse yet, they have transmissions that tend to die from poor shifting.
Wanting a trouble free bike from a GS, a B6 isn't the way to go.
Cool.
