Title: Which can I get the most $$ from?
Post by: Tombstones81 on June 20, 2012, 06:38:39 PM
Have 2 good engines.

the 94 is basically complete with some minor work. (helicoiling cam shaft mounts) but with 95 cylinders and head.
19K miles.

The 89 is complete from the cylinders down. ( zero issues)
also 19K miles.

Which would offer the most profit as im on the hunt for my next bike.
or rather, Saving and then hunting.

Selling them as they are
or
Take them apart and sell the parts.

Going by ebay prices.
The lower cases go for anywhere from say $75 at the lowest to an average $150.

So I would "assume", a bare minimum of $200 per would be acceptable on there.

didnt do a whole ton of research yet.
all I looked up were gs500 engines and cases on ebay.

which I found zero complete lower ends to go by.

thanks

it's a lot easier to sell it in person for cash than deal with charge-back fools on ebay for 30 different parts.

Sell each engine as a whole, or sell all as one lot.

Unless you want to be in the parts business, the above is much easier.  Also, selling as parts will take longer to recoup $$.  Your time is also worth money as well, so don't forget about that.
