Title: speedo cable is busted, need help
Post by: Speedyg on June 23, 2012, 12:41:03 PM
so i found the cable and see that it looked like the previous owner rigged it by himself with a different cord seen in the pic below http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/8500/img8328mm.jpg (http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/8500/img8328mm.jpg) it does not have anything to thread in so it looks like he clamped it in, and the top port looks like this http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/8256/img7974n.jpg (http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/8256/img7974n.jpg) the bigger problem is that lower connection i cant figure out how to take it out, http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/653/img3749sm.jpg (http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/653/img3749sm.jpg) looks like i may have to take of the wheel to undo that screw,So really i just need insight on how to take of the cable connecting to the front  wheel[/color] and i found a chord for 25$ so now i just have to figure out how to take of that bottom port, thanks for all the help =)

edit: and i turned the front wheel and cable did not spin so now i know for sure its the cable

There is that set screw on the side of the wheel speedo gear box. Take that screw out completely then you can wiggle out the cable.

No. Just remove the screw next to where thee cable goes in. That's all that holds the cable in.
