so im finally about to inbark on getting the gsr fairing in brazil, has anyone else got it yet or going to get it, im thinking of buying one part of the fairing at a time to lessen the risk of buying from somewhere so far away, or does anyone know the seller peronally and know i can trust them, or know of a more secure way of getting it? thanks,
brandon
well? does anyone know?
I'd go for it, I bought my TCP fairing from Spain, I simply sent an e-mail to this guy and the next thing I knew is they deleivered promptly and eficiently the fairing to my friend in Madrid. Here you don't need to cross the ocean, only the continent... and you're not getting a TCP but a GSX fairing...
Good luck
yes i really want to but i dont even see a web sight for them. I think ill just try to buy 1/3 of the fairing at a time, thanks

rich500 knows the guy (I think). you should PM him.

1/3 at a time would make shipping costs 3 times higher, I remembered there were some guys from Brazil in this forum, so you could ask some help from them, as well from other people. I don't remember in which city this GSX fairing guys are in Brazil but if anyone knows we could gather the complete info about them.
thats a good idea thanks

I would think that a trans-atlantic shipping from Europe to the United States would be substantially cheaper than any shipping from Brazil. Keep in mind that North America and South America are not connected by roads (the Darien gap between Panama and Colombia is all but impassable, except by foot w/guide). Thus the fairing would have to be shipped from the Brazilian coast and carried around the entire country of Brazil - which is larger than the continental US and juts way out into the south Atlantic - then come back west around Guyana and French Guinea and then head north through the Antilles to reach the Florida coast.
Also, given the high volume of trans-Atlantic trade, you might benefit from competition between carriers. I highly doubt that the number of carrries between Brazil and the US is nearly as high.
I guess you could air-ship it, but I don't even want to know whtat the cost of that would be.
Best of luck with your fairing search though. If I it were me I would buy JamesG's carbon fiber race fairing and put a GSXR headlight in it. But thats just a personal opinion.

I agree with you, actually I was being sarcastic about only having to cross the continent... but really didn't know very much about the conflicting geography of Central America, thanks for illustraiting us... :thumb:
