Title: Seat Covers!
Post by: BassWoW on June 25, 2012, 09:36:14 PM
Has anyone tried an alaska leather sheepskin cover??

I hear there really good and I plan on doing my seat mod and put one of those covers on for my wife and I to 2-up. Only problem I see is they dont list the gs500f for any size. Has anyone bought one?

Also, Sargent offers sport skins... They look pretty good as well.

Lets hear what everyone uses or had.
Thanks. :-X

I heard the same thing from an old roomate.  However, I went balls out and remodified my entire seat myself.  If your looking for something more comfortable you may want to go this route.  My fiance and I rode about 6 hours and couldn't bear the pain before I made mods.  Only took a day with the foam and afew days with the electric staple gun.  If I had an air staple gun I could've gotten it done in a day.  You can see pics in General GS500 Discussion / Re: Seat Replacement: Vinyl or Leather?  I also referenced diymotorcycleseat.com

Read your thread. That looks great. I bought 2 inches of HD foam and some Black Marine Vinyl. I'm going to cut down the foam if needed but this week I was going to try it just on top becuase it does squish down quiet a bit. I think in the end I will end up doing it im just not so confident doing it myself.
