Post by: drowningbird808 on June 27, 2012, 12:58:03 PM
i was leaving a gas station and my fuse blew out, so i went in and luckily they had a set. the fuse that blew was a 20 but it says its required to have a 30(may be backwards..lol) so i put the proper fuse in and started riding and minutes later my bike cauight fire and the wires to the headlight melted. any ideas to why? :icon_question:

There could be a million reasons why.  First thing that comes to mind is a short.  You'll most likely need a new wiring harness.

So did you put in a 20 or a 30?

What said 30?  Our bikes use a 20A fuse.

So you have a short. Might not have been hard to find before it caught fire. Now, as you replace all the damaged wiring you will probably fix the original problem.
