Title: Random brainstorming
Post by: CanyonKid on June 28, 2012, 12:15:08 AM
sooo I have a 1992 Gs500e that is matte black and putting on clipons and a lot of the posts say above the ytiple tree is best although they are too high since I have ridden my bike for about 6 months or more with clubman and the clubman on a gs are just.... not safe of the wrists.

I was also curious as to what other mods are recommended seeing as how my current agenda is the following:

- clip ons
- rear hugger if I can find one
- rear shock swap
- possible fork swap since my fork are a tad warped and leaking some fork oil.
- probably better brakes because I just don't like the stock brakes.

Any other suggestions?

thanks guys :)

To put clip ons above the triple clamp would require you to shove the forks up about 1.5" (unless you get the stock 89 clip ons of course). That would make your front end just scary to ride on - especially with any fork issues you have. If your clubmans are too low, why not try some drag bars or super bike bars instead?

I really dislike the clipons above the forks mainly because my clubmans were low and perfect the only complaint I had for the clubmans were the angle they were at was quite an acute angle especially for canyon riding, which is mainly what I would do on my weekends.
