Title: My Bike Won't Start And The Battery Is Charged.
Post by: LAEMU6 on June 30, 2012, 07:46:59 PM
I Just Received My Bike Yesterday From A Week And A Half Long Transport From Los Angeles, CA To Washington DC... I Jumped On The Bike Only To Find That The Engine Won't Start At All... I Took My Battery To The Base Auto Shop And Had It Charge For 2.5 Hours And Even When I Put The Battery Back In The Bike Still Wouldn't Start... The Headlights, Taillights, Horn And Signals Work But When I Have The Bike In Neutral With The Kickstand Up, Clutch Pulled In And Me Pressing The Starter Nothing Happens... There's No Clicking Noise, No Sound At All Coming From The Motor Or Battery, There's Fuel In The Tank Although I Haven't Had Fresh Fuel Since I Left For The Air Force In January And I'm Wondering What Would I Have To Do In Order To Get My Bike Back In Running Condition... Any Help Would Greatly Be Appreciated...

Faulty clutch switch maybe. Or kill switch?

Faulty Clutch Switch...? When I Received The Bike The Kill Switch Was In The Off Position With The Keys In The On Position...

A long period of time with the key on can kill the battery. 2.5 hours on a charger may not bring it back to life.  I would recommend you check the clutch switch and verify it is working (zero cost), and if that gets you nowhere, replace the battery or jump start it.

Please, Brian, do not start every word with a capital letter. Doing so "snags" the eye as it scrolls across the text and makes it harder/longer to read. Every word with a cap is fine for a headline because you want to snag the eye. But it is no good for normal reading.
