I'm looking for a new engine head for my '98. If you have are in southern California, I'll even pick it up.
I have an 89 head and I am in SoCal are they interchangeable? markk1027@verizon.net Ed
yes they are.
but incase the topic poster forgot or doesnt know.
The head needs to be complete with matching Cam Shafts and cam shaft Mounts.
Those are machined specifically for the head and cannot be swapped around.
(edit)
the only difference with the heads, is the newer ones have an electronic tach.
unlike the older ones with the slot in the head for the mechanical one.
Thanks for the quick response. Email sent. I'd recommend taking down the email address to avoid spam-bots.
Tombstone, I appreciate the technical info.
Looks like this sale fell through. I'm still in the market if anyone has a spare engine head sitting around.
Ive got a head complete off a running 07 if you are interested

I might still have a head off an 05, with a new valve(valve was cracked) and new valve seals. Not sure if I have the cams tho will have to check. Trying to get rid of it
Juan1 - you really should get a 89-00 head, some time in 04-05 or even later I am not sure, they plugged off the tach drive. OTOH, you can swap to the later electrical system and get the electronic tach, and toss the bloody PITA cable tach. You need the new tach too.
Cool.
Buddha.
Thanks bud, I wasn't aware of that.
I have a complete head from a 94. Cams, mounts and tach screw are all there. PM if you are interested.
also in 97 engine and head changed from black to silver. keep this in mind
