Title: new project. alongside the sccooter and motohuffy
Post by: yamahonkawazuki on July 06, 2012, 10:30:35 PM
my mothewr became ill in 2007 when i sold my last gs500e ( a 97) well i purchased via ebay  a jet3 electric wheelchair. ( $900 shipped. well below the 3500 tag. ( she passed away  in 2010 january. before my bday. anyhoo on to the project. doc wants me  off of cycling for a while and limited walking too. so o he was okay with motorised scooters/gopeds etc. heres the idea, 1, im taking the 66cc engine and installing it on a goped frame. which im also setting the huffy up for the engine too ( again)  once docs lifts ban. 3rd project. the elec chair has had dead batteries for almsot 3 years now. and is mostly disassembled. aka ready for conversion to a stand up scooter spped of about 15-18 mph. perhaps 20 with teh 80lbs of seat and frame removed. installing a plate and handlebars to hold driving control. plate to stand on. bolted toframe. going from this

to my poorly rendered frame for stand up use
(http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u360/gstwin/jet3.jpg) bar will be taller. close to gopeds heighth. i can use this at my job if need be to pull things too lol

pull start ordered for engine. ive got hte teeth for the high compression , so not worried abotu breaking things. seller is sending 4 studs free. ( one broke/fell out. ) so theyre 6x50mm or somehting like that. theres a couple threads left at end, ill either use jb weld and fil the hole and screw stud into it. using red loctite, or use a larger stud. but no ill go with my plan since. theres no cost involved. and ive got to let my toe heal. ( if it doesnt, im in danger of losing it/ hence the pull start. less strain on feet. and the developing neuropathy lol . motohuffy should be back on road within, id say 3 weeks tops. 1 week for parts to get herr from CA, 2 weeks of fab.  may buy more chain, not sure on that. but id say 3 weeks she should be ready to roll. but using the pull starter, i can bench test the assembly on my motorcycle jack. @ idle, @ 2k rpms, @ 5k rpms, and at 10k ( wot )each increase only if previous ones pass. and checking bolts between runs too of course

pull starter arrived today. as did the wrong mounting studs. the guy sends cylinder studs. but not worth time to raise cain. ( and they were free too so ill keep em. and locate a 6mmx20 or so mm bolt or use a spare mounting bolt i have laying about

(http://i519.photobucket.com/albums/u360/gstwin/Mobile%20Uploads/downsized_0810022058.jpg) 60 bux for a nearly new 3.5 tecumseh engine runs great. will fit this on trike rear end, which then will fit on any bicycle i get my hands on.

this trade fell thru. he rather would have had a case of natural light beer for a 130 dolalr bike. his loss. i said, whatcha gonna do once you drink the last beer. you cant ride  anymore you got rid of the bike and dont  have one. , well i sold him one @ pawn shop. next day he pawns it back, day aftr picks it up,m day after pawns it again. cant understand this person. meet the oddest ppl in pawnshops.
