Title: Racing!.... of sorts
Post by: Phil B on July 11, 2012, 10:24:36 PM
FYI, I'll be down in San Diego tomorrow, for this:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/06/25/gt-academy-national-finals-racer-x-challenge-win-a-humanracing-gt-chassis/

Basically a 1 lap one chance competition on a mystery virtual car, on a mystery virtual track, against 200-400 people
I dont think i stand a chance of winning, but it would be nice to at least get a good showing :)

That's awesome. Good luck!
If you win...we all want to have a turn in your prize. :)

I got 441st in the GT Academy Time Trials for the US this year.  I didn't think that was too bad considering I don't play a ton and spent less than 8 hours on it.

I love the GT series!  Have spent many hours playing over the years.  Good luck!!!

It would be fun to get together a race of GSTwin members sometime!

I'll have to post pictures of the racing set up I made with a friend of mine for my basement.

Here's a link to my racing seat set up.  I don't want to hijack Phil B's thread here.

By the way, there was a bike simulator made for PS2 by Polyphony Digital (the makers of Gran Turismo).  It was called Tourist Trophy.  It's really too bad they haven't updated it for PS3.

I've been playing the hell out of Tourist Trophy recently. Speed/lap times aren't very accurate a lot of the time, but I can compare it's rendition of Sears Point to the real thing, and can confirm that it's a damn good representation of the real track, and that the real lines work very well in the game.

I want to try that sooo bad!!! i don't know i could ever justify having one for myself as NFS is the only racing game i still play, i used to play a ton of FPS though, now guns to use there (except time crisis)
