Well the day I thought was so far away had arrived I picked up my new F800R. After much consideration it turned out that this is the perfect bike to fit me now and what I want to do. This thing handles soooo nicely I reccomend it as a next step bike to anyone. Im in absolute love with it I love it more than when I first got my GS. I did have a few goodbye and thankyou words to my GS and it was wheeled out to the back of the dealership but it was time to move on. The GS taught me so much and I wont forget it anytime soon. As for me I'll still be stopping by often cause this forum is such a great place to be and the conversation is great.

idk if these are afvail. in the us. even so that is gorgeous mate. my only gripe if it can be considered a gripe is hte headlight arrangement. ive always been a bmw boxer fan. ive had 2 of them first oen was a gift. with 276k mi. on it. still running perfect. i gave it back to my aunt with almost 321k on her wheni left for MMI. still having nearly perfect compression. no smoking etc. thats why i like the boxer arrangement. minimal wear a long stroke, gravitational load is minimal etc, but that being said. what youve got is amazing looking. imho BMW does NOT build a sub par moto. and never will. so you're set for the long haul
Now you can bugger off and play with the big boys :thumb:

i rode wiht a few friends on gs' on a friends vmax. they owned my arse. i didnt know hte vmax too well and was afraid to push it. on the interstate OTOH. i opened her up. and went from 0-OMG in half a second. but i wont own a vmx. because it hurts my feet. ( not comfy) id have to rig forward controls on it to make it work for me
Guess I will be the only one left riding on the GS with you guys! Now I will really feel like the odd one out.
If everyone rides a different bike we will all be odd ones out :thumb:

Well theres a point but I will be left riding the scooter while you BIG boys ride your BIG toys :flipoff:
People say there is nothing like riding a slow bike fast.
I don't know, I like riding a fast bike slow - whatever that means.
Hey Slips.... remember, statistically speaking a rider of any experience is more likely to crash their new or new-to-them bike in the first 6 months and/or 8,000kms as they learn how that bike handles different situations. Keep it in mind. :thumb:

Meh id rather have either a harley or another gs. id prefer a gs. ( even tho it broke mroe than my hd did. the gs was my first moto i ever had. so even tho there are many bikes faster/better than it, id prefer it
Which is why I'm investing in crash protection and rider training and comprehensive insurance.

And in a level head NOT to try to impress anyone or keep up with people who are faster.

Thats a shame. All bikes scare me, thats what keeps me from wiping out. :thumb:
It's one less thing to worry about

idk if htey scare me or its my respect for what they can do in the wrong hands or in moments of bad decisions. either way its a a healthy fear. i refuse to ride with "fearless" riders. whehter its on moto bikes, gopeds or motorcycles.
Well I feel confident and comfortable on it and I can ride to my limit
I don't like riding to my limit. I like riding short of my limit so I always have something up my sleeve should the need arise.
Michael
Always gotta pull something outa ur ass.
I like having the Ability to, if I need it :thumb:
Well new more capable bike so who knows.
Not a huge fan of BMW designs, but that's a good looking bike.

Yes I am cause that's how I roll
J offered and you throw it back at me... so go fuk yourself :flipoff:
U go fuk urself I was happy with your offer but just wanted a marshmallow to top it off.
No you weren't. You told me you were going to look a gift horse in the mouth - ie, you don't want my offer. So, no free hotchocolate for you.
