Title: Camshaft bearing caps mixed up (Fiance moved them)
Post by: Chronohunter45 on July 15, 2012, 11:20:00 AM
Exactly as the title says. Pulled the cams apart for some maintenance and repair. Left the cam bearing caps opposite of each camshaft on my worktable. Fiance needed to grab something from a cabinet above my worktable, and moved stuff out of the way to grab it. I now have no idea which cap goes on which end of either camshaft.

Am I screwed?

I think the caps are marked A, B, C, D, am I wrong? If you look in a manual you can see which one goes where based on the diagram.

Ha, just looked at each valve and sure enough they are labeled. There was residual oil covering them at first. Thanks mate!

For anyone wondering where the cam cap labels are, refer to this picture:

The image shows the throttle side intake valve (labeled D).
