After sitting in my garage in pieces for a long time, my '91ish GS500e is working and legal to drive!
1991 GS500e engine and frame
1995 tank
SV650 rear shock, wheel, rear brake caliper, handlebars, headlight
early GSXR fork
mid 90s GSXR front caliper (i think)
stainless steel brake lines
Trailtech Vapor computer
Assorted little bits I had to machine/fabricate to put it all together
I got it years ago as a total to fix up for racing. After learning that I wasn't going to dedicate the time necessary to race, it sat in pieces and I slowly collected parts for it. Last year I became motivated to get it going for various reasons and put it all together. The carbs gave me more trouble than I've ever had with a GS, but it is finally running pretty well (still need a little tweaking).
Now I have to get my dash indicator lights done (LEDs) and make a better dash and a mini fairing of some sort. Then I can start thinking about other mods.

Welcome to the forum and congrats! i just go my bike legal on monday and went from it lives! to oh #@$% it died... but i'm working my way back to it lives :icon_mrgreen:

Thanks for the welcome. I've actually been trolling around here for a long time, and been a GS500 rider off and on for many years, just never posted much here.

Hah. Thanks guys, but it's not quite as nice up close. It's just a quick rattle-can job to cover things up until I got it going. Once I finish all the various functional bits I plan on doing a more careful paint job on the whole thing. I am happy with the spay-on bedliner stuff I used on the top of the tank. Really helps keep the tank bag from moving around.
