Title: Trailtech Vapor issues in "warm" weather...
Post by: utzguy on July 19, 2012, 02:39:35 PM
I've got a Vapor on my GS and am having problems with it resetting due to the heat. It's a nice little computer, but if I am going to lose my trip distance and clock every time I ride in 100+ degree heat, i.e. every day in Austin, it is not real useful.

Anyone else using one and having this problem? Anyone using another computer in hot weather and not having problems?

Did a quick search on google and found a few forums of people talking about this stuff on your Vapor.  I have a Veypor so I got a whole lot of nothing to offer.  :dunno_black:

Well, they did respond to email quick so i'll give them points for that. Hopefully their suggestion will solve the problem. The seem to think the battery is a little lose and the vibration causes it to lose contact and reset. Put a little piece of foam under the battery cover. I will see if it works tomorrow.

Trail Tech is a great company. When I needed an extension for my temp wire, they sent me one free of charge. Very good customer service and a product thats made in the USA.
I have never had the problem you are speaking of, hopefully the battery is the problem.
