Title: Need a good bike cover
Post by: weedahoe on July 28, 2012, 12:50:55 PM
Well ladies and gents, as the title reads, I need a good cover. If you lovely people can please recommend two different ones I would appreciate it.

I need a cheap one for just wind and sun exposure and another to be fully weather (rain) proof.

THX

I had good luck with Nelson Rigg, but that was 2 bikes ago. Good brand though.

I've got a Nelson Rigg and it's pretty nice.  I got the UV2000 HALF COVER SILVER, medium size.  It just fits over my bar-end mirrors.  Has been out in real heavy storms and kept the instruments dry but the seat got damp.  Haven't seen any problems from being in the sun, crackling and what not.  It also rolls up real small.  Around the size of a 20oz soda.

http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/4/63/1421/ITEM/CoverMax-Standard-Motorcycle-Cover.aspx

heres what I have for my bike.
Completely covers it and has 2 holes on each side I toss a rope through to keep it from flying off in high winds (even tho thats never happend)

not 100% sure if thats the site I bough it off of tho.
I swear I only paid like $25 for mine

no complaints whatsoever.

and no i dont have any pics, but it does cover the entire bike right down to the ground.
Size: Large

Yeah I seen those on ebay for like $18 and that's fine for a cheap one. I think I'm already settled on the one but want another for one that's waterproof

i have one of these...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-WEATHER-PROOF-UNIVERSAL-MOTORCYCLE-BIKE-FULL-ENCLOSED-CAPSULE-COVER-/150849975853?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item231f5bf62d

not completely waterproof, but uses boat cover material and protects my bike pretty well. if you want extra water protection you could pull a tarp over it.

I have a tail chop so that's why there's a lot of extra fabric on the rear.

the one I listed is waterproof.

Bike is always bone dry when I take the cover off.
and if it rained, I always find puddles developed in areas of the cover where its not perfectly flat.

but never gets through to the bike.

Thanks guys. I actually sold my 94 so I was then able to bring my 07 in the shop and work on it. So right now I dont need a cover which gives me more time to look for one.
