Hi everyone, im new to the forum. Ive been lurking for about a week now and have been very impressed, im part of a couple other forums and theres some doucheeness sometimes, it seems like everyone is very friendly. Maybe i just havent been on long enough :D. Anyways I look forward to getting to know all you fine people.
So my story with the GS is this, if you get bored you can skip over. My older brother bought a 1992 GS500E in 2000, I was 16 at that time, he let me ride it around the block and I had a shaZam! eating grin for a week :woohoo:. Long story short without to much detail my brother passed away in 2004 due to a brain injury recieved late in 2000. So the GS became mine, in 2002 I got in a pretty bad wreck with the bike. I put it in my grandpas shed and there it sat (with gas tank off) until two weeks ago, ive neglected it far to long, so Im going to do a tear down and rebuild, i need quite a few things that I will start to slowly buy as money permits me, I just bought a custom side plastics/rear custom fiberglassed rear end and tail light from steezin and wheezin, awsome guy :icon_mrgreen: anyways ill shut up and post some pics :thumb:

Got tank sand blasted the other day
My condolences to your entire family.
While I have about zero GS500 parts, I can appreciate a ground-up rebuild. Signed up!
Thanks, appreciate it. Stay tuned :thumb:

I have plenty of parts if you need them. Post a WTB before searching ebay or elsewhere. Sometimes there are real steals on ebay, sometimes used parts are prices higher than new OEM. If something is available cheaper - we'll tell you. Small stuff like all the bolts & nuts & brackets - we have those in abundance.
I'm a parts whore like steezen. You'll find references to the West Seattle GS500 Club and the Bike Cave in West Seattle.
And you WILL get ragged on one of these days. The difference is that here "we mean that in the nicest way" to quote Dame Edna.
If you want parts and someone responds --- PLEASE follow up and if you don't want them at least say so. At least 50% of the time people want parts, I respond, they say they will buy them and I never hear back. That's why some of us parts whores do not advertise parts --- too much time wasted with non-follow-ups.
If you keep in touch with us parts whores EVEN IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE PART you will get good responses when you need parts and better prices. We really hate those that waste our time and fail to follow up on a parts request.
Enjoy this board. there are lost of great people here and all willing to help you get the bike back on the road.

I saw her/him on Broadway in NYC not once but TWICE!
I think I em entitled to quote given the price of the tickets.
And you will get more parts.
Only $3000 and if you act now we'll double your order. As a repeat customer, you will get a substantial discount providing I have a place to stay when I come down there.
You will always have a place to stay on the Gold Coast if you come here. (I hear the public toilets are warm at night)
Kidding aside I can always find you a room to sit yourself and a GS for you to ride :thumb:
Adidasguy- thanks for all the info much appreciated, in the coming weeks I will post a WTB add and hope you guys have what I'm looking for. I will not ask for a part and then bail, and if I do I will tell you guys I don't need it if I don't :thumb: look forward to doin business with ya.
