Take it off the bike, ask a friend to hold the bike (firmly, hehe) and tilt it to the left. When the bike is at desired angle, align the kickstand with it's mounting place and measure the offset of the mounting hole. That's the length you need to cut off.
I suggest you cut out the portion of the kickstand's lower (ground) side, and reweld the (don't know the word) "foot" back on it.

I have one. I'll measure it and let you know. It came with my bike as an extra. The PO had lowered it then put it back to stock. He gave me the short stand in case I ever wanted to lower it again. Do you want to buy it? I can post a pic.

#5204

What year is yourbike?

If 89-00, then put on a 2001+ side stand - it is shorter.

Adjustable side stands are on flea-ghey

Sorry it took so long. Had to dig it up out of my messy garage. I have a shortened stand that an  I took some measurements.

Inside to the bottom ground plate is 7inches
Outside to the bottom plate is 8 inches. (the bottom plate is welded at the lean angle for the bike).

Placing it next to my stock stand it looks to be 1 inch shorter.
Here is the pics. I don't see ever using it again so if you are interested in it let me know. I'll sell it for $25 shipped (US). It's solid and has no rust. Only has a few paint chips. Was only on the bike for about 500 miles.
