Although it's older than any GS500, it counts for something, right?
1980 GS450 "Sport". Here's what it looked like when I picked it up:

And here it is when I got it home and got all the extra parts out of the boxes:

Sorry for the dark garage / cell phone shot. Non-running but titled for $250!
Fuk yeah :thumb:
Looks nice. :woohoo:
Thanks fellas. I'm really excited about starting another project.
The PO was an extremely nice older gentleman, and he said that it only needs a stator and coils to run. I haven't gotten too far into it yet (working on the roof of my house instead), but I tend to believe him. The odometer shows about 6k miles on it, and the condition of the rest of the bike leads me to believe it's correct. Time will tell........
give the carbs a decent cleaning as well. while replacing the other parts needed.
Believe me, they are on the "list". I haven't opened them up yet, but the gas that was in the tank had turned into that orange-ish soup. So the carbs probably are filled with the same goop.........
But, but, but, a GR twin counts too, cos suzuki had their head up their a$$ dont mean squat.
Cool.
Srinath.
I miss the rectangular tanks of the early 80s.
