I searched for a minute or two for "normal chain noise" videos from the forum, and couldnt find any.
So, guess I'll post my lousy video here.
Is this the normal amount of chain noise, when on centerstand, turning by hand?
It reminds me of an old, not so great bicycle :-/

sounds good to me.
if in doubt, lube it up with heavy chain lube, or i use a very heavy weight (diesel engine) engine oil. a tiny drop on every roller is more than enough. these links are big, much bigger than a bike, and will make more noise. you wont notice when the engine is running.
Possible you have some tight links.
as you rotate it (slowly) see if the chain gets tight then loose then tight then loose. If so, when it is tight look for zig zag links. If some links are tight, the zig zag will tighten up the chain. When they go over the sprocket the chain will magically get loose.
I had that happen. The PO didn't oil the chain. When I oiled it, the o rings swelled up. Some got so tight I couldn't wiggle them with pliers. New chain was the only solution.
