So i got the carbon fiber fender extender on ebay and its not the right one it looks like it would fit if compressed and bent in but i dont feel like it breaking??? same problems need to do something or return it???
You have to bend it a little to conform to the fender. Those real carbon fiber ones will not break.

alright did you get yours from the guy from spain? just want to make sure i dont make a $40 mistake also i have a piece on the left side of my fender that is in the way? should i cut the fender piece to go around it or?? also my bike is 2002 and the guy said in the despcription every year but 01 and 02 but found out the fenders are the same?
bluebird_engineering in Spain.
I didn't have to cut anything. Not sure what would be in the way. Maybe show a picture?
All GS500 fenders are the same except they were made from 2 different types of plastic. also older ones had holes for the OEM fender mud flap.
I drilled holes on my 2009 because I used to have the OEM one on it before the carbon one.
the piece is a cable guide that is on the left side of the fender it feels like there is the screw head that is in the way maybe not i will see weather it will effect it since i just held the extender up to it.

Obviously I'm not Adidasguy  but they are R&G sliders. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/5890/210/ (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/5890/210/)
You may have to cut a hole in the fender extender for the cable guide. The carbon fiber one comes up higher than the OEM one. (I just looked it one with a spare fender).
