I have a Pontiac Grand prix GTP. It has the supercharged 3.8 , amazing engines. I have ran the dogshit out of mine for 100k miles and its still kicking. For that price I don't see how you could do wrong. Throw a Eaton on there with a 3.4" pulley combined with SLP exhaust and a good 9" CAI and you'll be amazed at the power. Not to mention 30mpg if you can ever keep your foot out of it. Check out zzperformance.com for parts ideas or grand-prix.net for a great resource.

um yeah. The Eaton is the S/C used by GM. I have a Magnuson nose drive on mine which is really not necessary. If you can get the series III Eaton. They're a little better. Also, ZZP has a ECM program that did wonders for me.

Its a series 2 engine by Australian models or a L27 for our American friends. A series one for Australia is a LN3. American's call the L27 a series one. The L27 ran from VN series 2 to VR. The ecotec was the L36 or VS -VY.
I can appreciate a good model commodore but not a fan. I know the engines well because they are a brilliant engine to re engine other cars. I've a L27 sitting in my Datsun GS30 (260Z 2+2) with a pair of CT12A turbos hanging off the front of it. And its just the latest in a number of cars I've been involved in that have had L27 and LN3s shoved into them.

Yes they certainly are a good engine to fit to other cars. I think there are a few Hilux's around here with the Commodore engine in em.
