Title: 08 pipe to 06 G500F
Post by: 2stroksmokr on September 06, 2012, 01:53:27 PM
Long time lurker.

So I have a screamer exhaust on my bike and looking to put it back to LAMs to sell it. I bought a 08 GS500F pipe after positive feedback from both my mechanic and other forums that it would just slip on.

This was not the case. Anyone had first hand replacing this or know if it should of fitted ? Maybe I'm putting it on wrong but its only by roughly 1cm, have taken pictures which I will put up when I get home later on.

The OEM exhaust is one peice from header to muffler ~ there is nothing to 'slip-on'~ what do you have ?

OEM exhaust from all years mounts and fits exactly the same. Even though newer ones have a larger can, they all are interchangeable. and fit the same.

And if you have an OEM muffler and trying to put it back to the OEM pipe, no it wouldnt "slip on" but you could butt weld it or get a coupler and clamp or weld it but pics would be great
