Holy jumpin', man!  That's as big as my house!  Well, Ok, maybe not quite, but that's a big ol' addition for a shop.  What's the total square footage gonna be when finished?  I got three bikes plus all my tools & work surfaces in a 10 X 20 space.  I've got the XR100 tipped up into a corner to try to get it into a smaller footprint.

I am a tad envious...   :thumb:

hehe

The current "garage" is about 20' x 27', but it is an enclosed car port so  is only 7' at the front and slopes down at the rear until I can barely walk under the trusses with my big head.  The biggest problem is that it is all one space and composites are messy so I can only do one thing at a time, work on bikes OR work on fairings. And even then, the dust gets everywhere, not fun.
What I'm planning on is to build the addition on the rear first, then shuffle all my stuff into it when the walls are up and then tear down the old section (which is on a good slab) and then build the rest out.  The total square footage should be a bit under 1000 sq ft. The front half will be a garage/machine shop, with the back half divided into 3 "compartments" one will be the "clean room" for doing layups, another will be the "dirty room" for carving molds and sanding, and the other will be a paint booth for well... painting and spraying release agent. I'm valting the 14' roof/ceiling so that the back half's attic will be storage.  The whole thing will have a forced ventilation climate control system flowing from front to rear to keep the mess to a miminum.

I know what it's like. Several years ago I added on to my shop for a total of about 700sqft in an "L" shaped layout. Had to cut out 2 walls and the roof. All framed. Raised the new roof to 10'. It took about 4 days to get it in the dry with 3 helpers. It took me several more months to finish the electrical and HVAC ductwork. It has a 2 ton heatpump. Still not enough room. A project for the next house.
