Title: front engine bolt
Post by: Phil B on September 15, 2012, 04:31:20 PM
SO.. my "frame sliders" bolt snapped, after my last drop :-/

and I may have misplaced my old engine bolt >.<

In case I cant find it after a few days, anyone want to sell me their old functional front engine bolt for cheap?
I'm in southern california, if it makes any diference.

Well, there's the main, and then there's the backup, and then there's one for the toolkit, and then there's one for a rainy day....

lol, I think just one will be fine thanks :) with the external washers, etc. please. I have the inside two black spacer thingies, but will need anything else.

This the one? The front upper bolt that r&g replaced? I'll throw in a couple spacers as I have a box of them. There are no washers based on looking at the bikes without sliders and I never had any washers come off when putting on R&G sliders.
Postage probably $6 -$12. I'll know Monday when I send it.

PS: two manuals say these things use self-locking nuts.
Not in US?

They do use nylon locks nuts. At least, mine had them on it. But after taking them off once to change the engine and then again to add my frame slider, I simply added a drop of blue lock tite

Erm... THe service manual goes into great detail about the length of each engine bolt, nd the length of the spacers, and that there is a locking nut... But doesnt actually specify size of the bolt and nut.
What size locking nut do I need to acquire?

An UNused locking nut? That would be nice. Otherwise I dont mind making a trip to the store.

Used but grips tight. Add thread lock and you're OK. It is all metak, no nylon insert.
PM me address again. I think I have it  - zip Lakewood 90713
