My gs500f is my first bike. I'm not sure how a clutch should be set, and have always wondered if mine needed adjusting. Currently the clutch engages/disengages just by pulling the clutch lever ever so slightly.
Is there a recommended setting for the clutch or is this more of a personal type of setting?
In your Haynes, Clymer or Suzuki manual.

EVERYONE MUST get a Haynes, Clymer or Suzuki service manual! how can you maintain your bike without one?
Ya know I found the service manual online for free, I am looking for the link now but can't find it. Message me and I will post it for you to download..

I would be interested I can it also ;)
UPDATE!
Owners manual says measure the free play at the tip of the clutch lever, at the round ball like end....10 to 15 mm...
Maintenance manual says to measure free play at the hinge, the little gap that forms there when you activate the lever..here the free play should measure 4 mm (you have to pull back the little rubber cover to see this...)

Owners Manual says 10 ~ 15 mm, or about 1/2 inch of free play.....
Minor adjustments are done at the lever...major adjustment at the clutch
Funny you should ask as I just noticed tonight my clutch seems to have too much free play....just changed the handlebars so must of messed up something...
