If you happened to see my other thread, you will know that my GS is in a tough spot. Spun rod bearing kind of rough spot. I will be rebuilding it this winter, and get it back better than ever. I promise. But in the mean time, I am going to be on a Triumph Speed Triple. Probably.
I am going to be looking at a 2008 this Saturday. It looks like one hell of a bike, and from a whole 'nother realm as the GS. I say that as a good and bad thing. It obviously has more power (guy says it was clocked at 128 hp), higher-tech everything. But with that comes a whole different attitude toward the bike. Too complicated to do much work on, too expensive to want to try. Much different than our GS do-everything-yourself culture. I will have both while I'm fixing the GS, and when they are both up and running, I will decide which to keep - decide which camp i feel more at home in.
It's a bittersweet moment, but I won't be leaving yet. I have work to do!!
