Title: Bike still revving while idled...is that normal?
Post by: hedgehog88 on September 27, 2012, 01:01:03 PM
Hi,

I took a 45 minute ride today and notice after around 30 minutes that while I wait for the traffic light to change, neutral position or clutch engaged, my bike is still revving at 2000 - 3000rpm.  Is that normal? And I feel that while I change gears its a shorter timing between change.  Doesn't seem like the throtte is sticking or the choke. I never suspected this before till today. I do also notice my clutch cable does seem loose. I have made no modification to it since its my first year riding.

Has anyone experience this before or may know what the problem is? Is there anything I can check? Hopefully I won't have to bring it in to the shop to get it checked out. :(

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, it's quite common but not "normal". Read above link
