Title: Which workshop manual?
Post by: geebee on October 03, 2012, 03:12:33 PM
Can anyone tell me what changed on the GS between 2002 and 2003? I bought the Clymer manual off Amazon for models between 1989 and 2002. Mine is actually a Feb 2003 model. I should learn to read before ordering!

Do I need a different manual, or were the changes cosmetic?

2003 was not sold in the USA. I do not think that much changed between the years 2002 & 2003.

Someone from somewhere that sold 2003's should document that model.

From 2001-2002 to the 2004+ models:
* Oil cooler added
* Wiring harness changed
* CDI different
* Wiring connectors at hand controls changed

2006: Right hand hand control connector changed to run headlight through the start switch to turn it off when start pressed

Mechanically, 2001+ are all pretty much identical other than fairing added n 2004 in USA (Other places sold fairing model and naked models)

I would assume 2003 is the same as 2002.
