I have a pdf scanner at work. I could easily help bring this manual to the site, if you win this auction. It would be a great tool for members of this site. Interested?....

Cool idea, could be dodgy copyright-wise though.  :dunno:

If it's an outdated manual that Suzuki won't sell anymore, let's say for 89 -00 GS's, i'm sure there's some disclaimer that can be posted to officially state that it is for display purposes only. Technically, this guy's already breaking the rules by selling it on Ebay.

There has been a scaned in SV manual on //www.socalsvrider.com available for download for a long time.

How is it illegal that he is selling a manual in original print?  :dunno:
A copy of it yes, but I see tham go across ebay all the time.

I'm sure if you look hard enough there is a line in the manual about unauthorized resale, if not i take it back.

I have an original service manual for the SVS an there isn't anything that I could find about resale, just the copyright date.

Good, now how about unathorized distribution? If you don't see that either, then we should totally try and put a hard to get manual up here.

They are not hard to get. //www.repairmanuals.com carries them for $59.95
Suzuki GS500EM Catalog (//www.repairmanual.com/motorcycles/1991/62/4/5894/2303)

I am sure there are legalities associated with "unathorized distribution"

Alright already, let's just forget i ever mentioned posting the f***in manual online. Everybody go pay out the ass for a shop manual or snipe one off ebay for 2 cents under retail.

Anyway all i wanted to do was help other members of this site get information and thought that since this was a semi - private club we could get away with posting a manual.

It's a nice idea and all, and kudos to you for thinking of it. I'd just be worried about the wrong person stumbling upon it. There's probably as many people lurking around the board/site who never post here as those we are familiar with, and for all we know some of em could be Suzuki people.

I wonder if there's a way around it though. Ronayers.com has fiche online and surely they didn't create those themselves. I would imagine microfiche would be copyrighted too would it not?   :dunno:

Again, great idea....just don't want to see John get sued or anything.  :o
