Title: Carb adjustment

just got done rebuilding carbs on a 1991 GS500E  ,,Spudders when i nail it got any ideas?? :dunno_black:

Lots of ideas - but we need some details as to why the carbs were rebuilt, how they were rebuilt, any other drivetrain maintenance / modification, etc.

Thanks for the reply ...I have a 91 gs500e  took the carbs off the bike had been sitting 7 yrs.cleaned out the jets .,ports ,float valve ,bowl etc ..but it still sputters at around 5k then it kicks in ,,,I think now i have to sync carbs :embarassed:

Stock intake / exhaust and jetting?

thanks again .. K&N air filter ,went up one jet size and cobra exhaust..made a manometer today never sync'ed the carbs ..since i've had the bike. I'm pretty sure therein lies my problem since it seems only one carb is working until 5k then it kicks in...... :icon_exclaim:

Carb sync is always a good idea after any carb work (a given really), and sounds like a good bet on your problem.  But I'll add that having sat for so long (among other variables), your valve needle seats could be bad/sticking/etc. which may produce similar symptoms - So heads up on that.

Well gang the carb Sync worked out fine..Just wanted to thank you guys ..
one more question...so i've gone up one jet size from stock added a cobra slip on
Now what would you recommend as a spark plug gap have it rite now at 8.5..
