It looks clean.
But sorry, far from best looking. :nono:

I hear ya.
Mostly just giving you a hard time.
I know it's a big statement "best looking on road" but to me it is! After all the work I've done and making it the way I want it has a much greater sense of personalization and belonging to me now! On the other hand...it's also for sale for the right price ;) jkjk!
That IS a nice looking bike !
I'd be proud of it and ride the hell out of it .

Thanks Mab, What are you riding these days? pics?
Higgin's,
This is what I've been riding this season.
It's way too many, I can't do them all justice so I think next spring I'm going to thin the herd a little and buy a new Triumph Bonneville SE.
I love the older bikes but the maint., registration, insurance, etc is becoming a pain.

Lots of bikes, nice, the last black and red one is pretty pimp lol. Definitely a nice looking and unique bike.
That's my little GS500 with lipstick :)
The little blue one is my 81 GS250, also a 81 GS1100, a little 75 Kawi 100, and my Yami 1300 lazyboy on wheels.
Lipstick? Def seems less manly now lol. Still looks nice. One day I hope to upgrade to a GSXR 750
All male owned bikes are female (except for Adidas no one knows what his bikes are... transgender?).
Suzi: girl
Junior: Was going to be "Suzi Junior" but turned out to be a boy
Phenix: Boy
Trey: Original color purple. Then painted yellow. Then back to purple with tank bought off board. Then swapped to blue with stuff bought off board. Then back to purple when sold. So Trey IS GENDER CONFUSED!
Quin: don't know yet.
Thumper: 1973 - so old it doesn't matter - if girl then menopause. If boy then too limp for sex.
theres always viagra for the thumper lol.
*Update - With all these mods my fuel economy dropped to about 300km a tank...Mind you I drove these km very hard.

Really? I think there is significant changes. Simply reading my sig will show you what's different. I also consider the signals, lights, windscreen and undertail fairly sognifigant exterior mods. I wasent loomin to start chopping and welding the frame.
Helps me find your thread later.
I am glad you like your bike, but esthetically it is not significantly different from stock. So I can't say it is the best-looking.
Unfortunately, no one has ever really done much with the GS. It's a pretty limited bike for most people. You could go to town on it, but you would never recover any significant money you might spend on it.
In particular, I really dislike the faux CF LP flushmounts on the front. I am sure a more resourceful person could find a far better flush-mounted signal light. What you have were designed in the 80's, and in my opinion look like it. Sorry, I just don't like them.
Hacking off the rear fender is also going in the wrong direction in my opinion. You are giving up a lot of functionality. I can understand shortening the fender a little bit, but I don't get the FE look. And you could have eliminated the rear turn signals with an integrated rear tail light. In addition, I saw a GS500F in Quebec that had the rear tail light made flush with the rear bodywork, which I thought was a big improvement over the way it sticks out normally.
A competent decal shop could also do something to modify/highlight the OEM graphics a bit ~ I just see some room for improvement, is all.
Lastly, you haven't addressed some other really good options such as different wheels and suspension. And you have stock handle bars and grips. And no electric accessory outlets. Or luggage options.
Oy...you still have lots to do before you can claim best looking status.
I choose my rear turn signals over intigrated for cost reasons, mine were 30 vs 200. On all parts I had to balance the budget. I am after all a starving 24 year old male....spare some change sir?
Point taken. Stay calm and carry on.
Like the upgrades man, its subtle but definitely different from stock. The fender elimination probably did the most out of everything, its amazing what removing a hunk of plastic can do to the look of the bike.

Thanks, it was about 30 bucks to do the undertail. If your interested ill send you a link.

Looks awesome, Personally I think the bike has a very good look to begin with so there is not a lot of modding needed for aesthetics. But there are some. I like the fender eliminator. I am going to make my own.
I think your rear signals look great. I don't like the integrated from a safety standpoint. If anything I would have both and make them alternate.
I like the front flush mount idea but I think the ones you got are just a little too big? I think. Something about them. They don't look like they belong. I think these would look better,http://www.ebay.com/itm/Euro-LED-Flush-Mount-Turn-Signal-for-1995-2007-Yamaha-YZF-R6-R1-600R-06-05-04-03-/360506943951?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53efe369cf&vxp=mtr (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Euro-LED-Flush-Mount-Turn-Signal-for-1995-2007-Yamaha-YZF-R6-R1-600R-06-05-04-03-/360506943951?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53efe369cf&vxp=mtr)
Love the underlighting. I am going to go with RGB strips, and put some inside the faring openings as well as the wheels.
Those look good to. Based on the measurement though they would only be 1cm smaller then the ones I have. perhaps my pictures are deceiving.

The underglow I have has 15 or so different colors and a wireless controller, similar to a key fob that activates them.

I Really want to go with almost invisible. I dont want to know they are there until I turn them on. I was thinking of LED strips. Use that spray on headlight blackout and make them as hidden as possible. That being said if you like your lights then they are great. Its your bike, it suppose to look good to you. not everyone else.
The under lighting is exactly what I want to do. Do you have pics of where you stuck the lights?

2 under the front wind guard thing above the front fender. 1 on the bottom of each side of frame at center of bike. 2 under rear fender/mudguard.

I have rolls and rolls or lights I use for work. I cut the length I needed, soldered wired, put them in place and made all the connections. I'm behind on projects for my other customers so I'm trying to catch up on that now. Once that's done I will finish the rest.
If you want see something real cool, just wait a bit longer. No promise on when yet but it will be before spring.

Dont feel bad. Ive wanted to ride all this weekend as its been great but Ive been spending it catching up on work so I can start painting test panels next week. Working outside and hearing bike mufflers all weekend hasnt helped.
I have you all beat, It is currently -35c with wind chill where i am, (-28c on own)
That's hibernation weather right there
LOL Canada is stupid cold in the winter
I love the look of Alaska in the winter. Well summer too. But I don't think I could handle cold like that.

I really really really wish i knew what back tail is on that black and red bike. I'm so hunched over on my gs500 and i would put alot of time into lowering my seat. Does anyone else know of a good way to get a lower seat?

You don't lower seat, You raise handlebars.
