I noticed mine are too when I pulled the cover for valve check......both caps on the right side (B & D" are cracked) FAK!
same side as me. i am sad. i feel like it has been that way for a while, so im half way inclined to say fuk it
Just wondwering since you have the same cracked caps that I do.....Did you notice an oil weep around the right side of the valve cover? I noticed this a while ago and wrote it off as adding a bit too much oil atthe last change.......I am thinking that the side of the valve cover wasn't as tight as it shoud have been, thus allowing oil to weep in that area.....Just a thought...
now that you mention it, I did have a good amount of oil seepage on that side. I think this was severely aggravated by a tear in my tach cable and no oil seal
Keep an eye on e-bay, I found a 2005 head with 2000 miles on it for $123 shipped.
unfortunately i need a pre-04, and those are pricey, for some reason
Hey there, I have parts for a 2000 GS500 engine. Everything is good in it besides the left piston rod/bearing and the crankshaft. Camshafts are in excellent condition. Checked with a dial indicator for any warping as well. Caps are all healthy, no cracks. Chain's in great condition too if you wan that also. Top end camshaft cover is good too. What's your budget? I need to get rid the parts and I'd love to help out a fellow GStwin member. Located in RI, USA.
All heads will work on all models, I will just have to run a digital tach because the 04 and newer do not have the Mechanical Tach hole in the front of the head....I should be able to rig something up pretty cheap.
...which is why i need a pre 04 head, i don't want to have to buy another tach
I will figure out how to rig a cheap tach up....if i can't, oh well....who needs a tach anyways?
Hey email me my username at gmail.com pretty sure I can help you out pretty cheap!
