I'm sure somebody has already asked this question but I am too lazy to look for it. What is a good tyre pressure to run? Looked on the tyre wall and it says maximum pressure is 41 psi cold. Checked the trye pressure and it is 25 psi cold for front and back. Is that too low? I will put air in if I need it but obviously the tyres will be warmed up when I get to the servo so what should the tyre pressure be when the tyres are warmed up?
Owners manual.... 33 front, 36 rear, cold
Recommended tire pressure will be on the bike. The tire manufacturer can only tell what the maximum pressure should be ~ the recommended pressure depends on what bike you put their tire on.
you should get your own tyre pressure gauge so you can check cold pressures before leaving home. I always recommend to new riders to check their cold pressures first, then hot (or maybe at their local servo) to understand the differences. personally I have my own air compressor and check my pressures at home before leaving and use the same gauge to set all pressures for consistency. factory pressures seem to work well enough for me plus or minus a few PSI. ambient temperature will affect pressures as will shaded and unshaded tyres, by as much as 5 PSI.
Thanks guys. I will visit the servo tomorrow and top up the tyre pressure.
