I sold my street legal Husqvarna 510 SMR earlier this year and sought out a new project. I wound up with this low hour 2008 KTM 250 SX-F. The previous owner was not much for keeping his machine clean, but the maintenence had been done right so I struck a deal and the shopping spree started! here is how she looked when I brought her home:

This bike came with some extra plastics, clutch slave cylinder billet cover, glide plate, FMF hardparts exhaust, and a few other odds and ends.
After some extensive research, I wanted to go pretty much all out since the supermoto side of this bike will only see the track and won't need to worry about street legal garbage!
Build list:
Wheelset: KTM hardparts Behr wheels, silver hubs, black hoops, 16.5"x3.5 front / 17"x5" rear
Tires: Metzeler Racetec Drifts, soft compound supermoto specific (a set that I had already with some hot laps on them)
Sliders: SME axle sliders front and rear, bar end sliders, UFO peg sliders, APA exhaust slider
Bars: Fly Racing Aero tapered graphic bars in YZ high bend (Black, silver, gold)
Handguards: Cycra Probend Racer pack with black covers
Brakes: Beringer 6 pot Aerotec caliper (gold), Beringer BRO 14 (17.5mm piston) billet M/C (red anodized), Beringer 310mm cast Iron rotor (gold), SS line
Drive: DID ERT2 chain (gold), Renthal chainwheel (gold)
And a bunch of other parts from the SMR model.
I added temporary numbers for a race at VIR next weekend, but plan on doing all black plastics with all custom KTM factory team graphics and integrated number plates.
This is how she sits now, Pure sex on two wheels! :icon_mrgreen:

Should be a fun little bike!
Buzzare tires for dirt bike. I guess this is a street race...do you face all other 250s or just dirt bikes?
Supermoto racing (supermotard) is a cross between roadracing and Motocross.....2/3 of the track is tarmac (usually a Kart track), 1/3 is traditional motocross with dirt berms and jumps.....It was originally developed to pit the best MX racers against the best roadracers on a platform where the both would shine. I will run 250 class as well as open class against larger displacement bikes (450's, 400's). The nimble 250 should beat the snot out of the larger displacement bikes on a tight track.. We will see!
Get someone to take some video of the event. Would be cool to a see a twinner on the SX track.
:cookoo: The KTM is a single.......GS is down for the time being with recently discovered cracked cam journal caps... :bs:
I was referring to you, not the track.

That should have said, "I was referring to you, not the GS" :). Makes more sense now. I'm digging the KTM for sure.
