There are even crazier ebay listings. Or even craigslist. Check this out on my local CL http://modesto.craigslist.org/mcy/3299318818.html
Guy looked up oem prices and thinks people actually pay that for used seat and pipes.

You looking for starter? I have a good working one for $40 + shipping out of a 2001. Your's might be fixable for cheap depending on what is wrong with it.

i've got a few, too. Never paid Safari's price. They really have a price problem right now.
Brush repair kit might be all you need. Then buying a working used one can be as cheap and no work involved.

A friend of mine, Dweisbach, recently fixed his with some generic brushes for $6  and filing them down to fit the gs starter. The oem brush kit price or any starter parts price is crazy.

plenty of them out there.

This one tested and guaranteed!

Pinwall has plenty $24.95 $ $13 postage. Pick the newest bike it came from. Always good luck with their parts.

Another one - tested $25 including postage

I don't need a starter. I've got several. I just thought it was an outrageous price

Selling a used rear fender for more than $15 is also crazy. A new one is only about $40. Some are clueless about the worth.

Then some are clueless in the other direction. I got a complete wiring harness, coils, ICU and every relay and switch for $115. Just got a brand new right handlebar control for $15! Cheaper than a used one  :cookoo:

I check used prices a lot and compare to new prices. crazy that some sell used parts for more than new OEM parts.

I pick up some really good deals by monitoring the prices. $50 got me "F" tail, rear master cylinder, coils, rear tail light, wiring harness and other goodies. You have to watch and the deals are there.

And the price gougers are there, too.

yup, thats for sure.  :technical: fun to ask seller a question, if it gets printed. but then again. ive tried to be the good guy. if their price is in the stratosphere, it wont sell. unless buyer is clueless or desperate
