Title: 94 GS500 - Chicagoland
Post by: tmbr_wulf on October 21, 2012, 05:28:16 PM
Note: This is not my bike, and I'm not playing an active role in any transactions that may or may not take place.  I just want to help a bike find a home.

So, I was driving on a side road Saturday and passed a garage sale and saw a 94 GS500E and an 09 Aprilla for sale.  I stopped to check it out and chat with the seller and I told him that I would mention it on the board.

The GS is Aqua in color and looks in fair shape.  I noticed some rust here and there, but it wasn't a rust bucket.  The stator cover on the right side is missing, as well as the right handlebar end, and the clutch level is bent into a curve.  It also has a cut in the tailpipe right underneath the muffler from when someone tried to cut it off in a theft attempt.

He said that he bought it from a woman about 9 years ago or so.  I asked about the right side damage and I think that existed when he bought it, if I remember correctly.  It's been registered this year, so I'm assuming that it runs and everything.  He was asking $2,000 for it.

I have his name and phone number if anyone is interested in contacting him about buying it for either a whole bike or parts bike PM me.  I'm not at all interested in facilitating any transaction or playing any kind of middle man.  I'm just trying to keep a bike from getting stranded out of use.

That must be the down payment amount for the GS and Aprilia.   :D

I was already late to meet a buddy so I didn't bother digging into the price with him.  I don't have the time, space, need or money for a second bike so I wasn't going to haggle him down or tell him that I didn't even pay that much for mine.
