Spacer under the nut ? you mean the washer ?
Or the whole cover ... as in the O ring ?

The cover will need to be tightened after you properly seat the O ring and make sure its not out of its groove, and you tighten the 3 bolts in a circular pattern ... not crank one down and go to the next ... 2 turns on 1, 2 on the next 2 on the third etc etc ...
Cool.
Buddha.

TBH... I don't even have the washer or Spacer as you call it on mine...ooops

Just take it off and put the nut back on..or take the nut go to home depot and buy a washer to fit it.

Are you are referring to the crush washer on the drain plug?  If you did tighten the oil plug too much you might have stripped the threads on the pan.  In that case you will need to tap it out to one size bigger and get a new plug (and crush washer to go with it).  Take the plug out.  Yes, you will lose all your new oil.  Inspect the threads on the plug and on the pan for damage.  If they are not damaged, then you can just get a new crush washer and install the plug with the proper torque.  If you don't know what a crush washer is, or how to tighten to the proper torque, then you probably shouldn't be doing your own oil changes.  Ask someone with experience to help you.

You can save the oil in a clean container and put it back in. As long as the container is clean, you will be OK.
