Title: WTB/WTS - Updated
Post by: PatheticPuma on November 07, 2012, 04:32:44 PM
UPDATE 12-27: Fairing still available. Had a whole bunch happen to me all at once, took me too long to have it ready to ship, and weedahoe no longer needs it. It's boxed up ready to go tho.

I'm still looking for the gauges, headlight, and the center tail piece, I just wont be buying (unless the price is just too good to pass up) until tax time.

The WTS in the title stands for Want to Ship, not sell.

I have this fairing as seen in these photos:

All I am asking is the cost of postage, or if you happen to be near the Grand Rapids, MI area. Come and get it. I don't want it. Also willing to trade if you dont have paypal or dont want to pay the postage. Open to offers.

As for the Wanting to Buy...I need:

Gas Tank 89-00, I dont mind some dents and dings or a little bit of internal rust and I can clean/body fill/seal/etc. I only have about $100 budget for that (here's to hoping) before shipping.

Gauges 89-??, [Cable driven speedo and tach] Don't need to be in perfect condition as they will be getting painted to match the color scheme of the bike (still undecided)

Center tail plastic for my 91 plastics.

Headlight from an E or F

It wasn't meant to fit my 91 haha. Those metal bars you see are the previous owners homemade brackets. They fit on by attaching to the gauge mount points as well as to the stock headlight sub frames.

I think this is true. But like I said I can't guarantee it will fit. It probably would fit fine with little to no adjusting of the brackets.

I'm pretty sure you just asked a question about it and to answer it, no it will not fit. The front bracket (which is custom bars bent to shape) is not designed to fit our bike.

This is something you are going to have to do custom work on and fabrication to make work. This is the other something you can buy off the shelf and make work.

If you are not into custom fabrication, don't bother with it. It doesn't need to be rigged and it doesn't need to sit on someone's shelf.

If you want it, fine. But don't ask for it and not use or or break/damage it in the process.

What is your budget for gauges?
You need good gauge bracket or one that needs to be flattened back out?
Good plastic back one one with a crack that can be patched?
Let me know. I sorted my gauges and found extras.
LOTS of tach's.
Speedo's: good ones. One has bad rash. One has a bent trip meter shaft that can be straightened (which I might do).

Hoping to find a fixable set for around $60.

OK so fairing is going to weedahoe, as soon as I get a box for it.

No longer looking for a tank as I was able to get mine fixed.

I am however looking for a center piece for the tail plastics, If you have one you can part with for a fair price, shoot me an offer.

Thanks!

Sorry for the delay, work has been crazy. A server got hacked and the state is making me document all kinds of stuff and do forensics, not much of a holiday season I must say..
Ouch UPS wants $69 bucks for slow boat, because of the size they rate it at 75lbs..
I am going to check some other shippers and see if I can get a better price. If anyone else wants it in the mean time don't wait on me, I really want it though, I am just cheap!

Haha. Believe me I know how crazy things can get. In the last month my daughter was born, wife has had troubled recovery, baby had some issues, and I had to move us by myself. I'm glad things are finally calming down. Can try and get back to prepping for paint.

I can try and find a smaller box it will fit in with the windscreen off.

Alright, I will start digging. I'm not sure I have any big enough to fit it, but I will try.

What are the dimensions with the windscreen removed, maybe a flat rate box will work?
It looks like Parcel post is actually not a bad deal for that 23x23x23 box. I am going to confirm that and get back to you..
Thanks!!

Snagged the biggest flat rate box I could fine from my local PO, this thing is too big. Were you able to confirm the cost was good with Parcel Post?

If either one of us was a business it would cost $50 bucks less, thats crazy. Parcel post is still to much. I am going to bow out on this one..

Does it just need to be picked up from a business? or does it have to be shipped with a business account? I ask because the UPS guy does 3 pickups a day where I work.
