I have done some research but can't seem to find any information and there may be a reason that no one does it. I'm trying to get a better flowing muffler on the cheap so that Srinath can get me the jets that I need. He suggested coring the muffler and gave me a part to help out with the process.
It would be nice to find out if anyone has any information. It would also be nice if it gave it a little deeper sound and wasn't extremely loud. If anyone has any ideas on how to put it back together so that I could repack the muffler every once in a while that would be great as well. I'm not opposed to cutting down the muffler but I figured if I left it stock it would be better to actually muffle the sound.
Thanks,
-Andy
you'll need an angle grinder with cutting wheels, a small job welder, and creativity.
I looked around on this same subject when i was thinking of altering my muffler, but found no truly 'good' way of doing so. So with about 8" of exhaust pipe, a cheap muffler off craigslist, and about 15 minutes of help from a local muffler guy, I got a custom setup which works well and sounds great.
There is the "drill out" method, but i've seen very little contentedness with the results.
Thanks for the response. I honestly forgot I started this thread. Does anyone else have any opinions and/or thoughts?
I work with my hands and am decent at making things. I do have a welder, angle grinder, and a good amount of tools. I still haven't had a chance to start chopping yet but if I do I'll try to take pictures and post. I have to fix my badly leaking fork seals first.

cut your front catalytic converter out it is situated just after where the pipes go 2 into 1.Cut through where there are 3 plug welds on the pipe .you will be suprised at the increased responce .There is a second cat at the very start of the muffler just leave it alone .Exhaust sound is awsome but you may need to increase jet sizes .
