Title: Yoshimura R77; will it it?
Post by: Yutchadol on November 16, 2012, 03:50:48 PM
Found one in craigslists for 200$ & was wondering if this will fit my '92. The question is for any slip ons in general. Thanks  :thumb:

You can get a used Yoshi TRS for less than that

I bought one not too long ago on ebay for $40 with a dented can. The new can cost me $65. Thats $105 for a new setup total. Well $105 and a bit more because of the new packing materials, rivets and bands but you get the point

Any GS500 exhaust will fit any year. 1989 to the present: all mount the same.

Some, such as V&H, do not have the center stand bumper and use a separate bracket to keep it from going up too high. That's about it for differences. They all mount the same on the header and the single bolt on the right passenger peg.

2004+ have a larger pipe after the "Y" joint due to a cat. converter, but  up to that point they are the same dimension. So a slip-on might need some adjustment for pipe diameter at that piont, which is easy to deal with.

Thanks for the info  :thumb:

I'm liking this one

http://www.ebay.com/itm/85-Suzuki-GSXR-750-YOSHIMURA-Exhaust-Muffler-Tail-Pipe-Canister-/140885998298?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item20cd75bada&vxp=mtr#shId

Should fit right?

And I just realize that I don't have the pipe that connects from the header to muffler. Maybe that's why the bike is so freakin' loud.

No video I leave that to Adidasguy haha I just wanted to put it on really quick & go to the gym. Took me about 45 mins due to lack of supply. It sounds better than the other one for sure. I'm starting to think it's my engine that making all that noise  :dunno_black:

Cool deal. If it sounds better than stock and you like it, then it's all worth it.
